Hi there, hello.
I'm new to this world of blogging. Strangely I am a registered bonafide (albeit, extremely lazy) poster on several blogs.... but for some reason I still feel very, very new to this world of blogging.
So why am I here? A fair question. I'm here because I bake. I'm here because I cook. I'm here because my friends and family need a wee break from me talking their ears off about the subjects, and will soon be begging me to stop foisting my carb-loaded addiction onto them. I figure you're only here (yeah you) because you chose to be here, so I don't feel quite so bad about typing your eyes out over the subject of food. Now that sounds disgusting. Don't try and picture it - it's too too horrible.
I'm currently challenging myself to perfect all manner of baked goods, as well as some that are not baked. For instance just two days ago after a several year long search I feel I have finally found the perfect pie crust (thank you Tartine!). Now that that search is over (PHEW!!) I am off to conquer sourdough croissants, pecan pie fillings, caramel and marinara sauce. Among other things.
I am also considering challenging myself to attend pastry school in San Francisco for four long and horrible months (just kidding- sheesh people, that was a joke). And after that I will consider challenging my sister to start a farm to raise goats and chickens to supply the bakery I'm considering challenging myself to open with eggs, milk and cheeses (who's up for a goat cheese-making challenge??).
So I'll see you back here in say, a few days. I'll bring the snacks, you just bring your company.
